POWER CHINA ZHONGGUO ENGINEERING CORPORATION LIMITED recently unveiled the 520 Offshore Survey and Testing Platform in Qingdao, marking the debut of the country's first certified intelligent mobile offshore survey and testing platform.
It is noteworthy that the YSZ-702-Z pipe handling crane installed on the platform is an independently developed and manufactured mid-range product by INTLEF. This crane was first employed on the HUADONG ENGINEERING CORPORATION LIMITED 308 offshore survey and testing platform where it demonstrated remarkable stability. This latest appearance marks its second impressive deployment.
The upgraded crane model has been specifically tailored to meet unique operational needs, with the addition of remote control capabilities and an integrated camera system. It has received certification from the China Classification Society (CCS). The crane boasts a rated load capacity of 2 tons, a working radius ranging from 1.6 to 7 meters, and can handle drill pipes with diameters from φ40 to 265 mm and lengths between 3 to 9.5 meters. It operates at an efficiency of 25 pipes per hour (single pipe).
One of its unique features is the independent 180-degree rotation capability of both the main body and the grab jaws. It utilizes a combination of local, driller, and remote control modes, with a camera installed on the grab jaws to allow remote monitoring of the grabbing process. The compact design ensures minimal space occupancy when fully retracted, offering flexible operation and a wide range of pipe diameters without the need for gripper replacement. This significantly enhances offshore operational efficiency and saves considerable time.
Reports highlight that this is currently the most advanced and multifunctional 75-meter-class mobile offshore integrated engineering survey and research platform in China, capable of conducting high-precision marine survey operations, ocean resource exploration, and geoscientific research. In the future, INTLEF plans to continue investing heavily in the research and development of offshore eqiupment products to support the growth of China's marine exploration endeavours.
